"The Raptor" is a remote but well-known formation given its name by Ron Flickinger. On this particular evening, a passing storm was moving off right at sunset providing a clear western horizon. As the setting sun faded from the rocks, it started to illuminate the sky, and for a few seconds both The Raptor and the clouds glowed in the late-day light.
