It's difficult to walk past glowing sandstone and not attempt to compose a picture. In this case, the shape of the foreground rock mirrored very closely the textures and colors in the surrounding rocks. The ripple effect is produced not from the rock, but rather the optical alignment of the various elements in the frame.
