Coalmine Canyon is barely visible from the highway. Just enough can be seen to set the mind wondering what's inside. A short drive from the highway an overlook reveals the magnitude of the place. Large towers rise up from the canyon floor like watchtowers of medieval castles. In the early morning light, reflected glow emanates from the shadows bringing out the canyon's warm colors and textured walls.
