Like the sun's corona in a total eclipse, as I walked out of the bright early morning light and into the shadow of this arch, the intense glow suddenly became apparent. The light reflecting off the rock wall behind me lit up the chiseled rock, creating strong contrast against the soft, shadowed wall across the canyon.
