The light in slot canyons is always surprising. It changes quickly and, being mostly reflected from other surfaces, is of relatively low intensity compared to a sunlit scene. Often the reflected glow is barely enough to illuminate the twists and turns of the narrow passage. Finding enough light for an image is usually a matter of a long exposure while the camera is secured in place with a tripod.
