When it's warm enough, a good rain in the Sonoran desert often prompts the little pincushion cacti to bloom. Due to their small size they often go unnoticed, but for a day or two, they put on a nice show with their typical wreath of flowers. They can actually bloom multiple times a year if the rains are good.
