The new Environment and Natural Resources Building at the University of Arizona was designed to look like a slot canyon. The architects succeeded. The resemblance is hard to miss and the light can be similar and familiar. I used to photograph these all the time when living on the Colorado Plateau. Nothing can replace the joy and excitement of traversing an actual slot canyon, but it's wonderful to have a place nearby that triggers those memories.
