This multi-story mural in downtown Tucson depicts the Mexican cultural heritage present in southern Arizona. Looking closely, the woman's dress is actually a shadow of the sugar skulls and flowers iconography that's also present in the lighter colors of the mural. These symbols are associated with the Day of the Dead holiday (Día de los Muertos), which is celebrated November 1 and 2 each year in many Latin American countries. It blends both Aztec and Roman Catholic traditions.
